We were there over the weekend. The park was crowded but beach itself while not being really long was much bigger than North Beach which was really small and flooded with people on the same day. Finding a parking spot was pretty easy. There's restrooms and all basic amenities. A lots of space for barbecuing. If you want just get into water and get some sun go there

Nice clean beach to chill at but you must bring your own gear. This is a private beach and don't have the amenities of a large beach.

My husband and I took a drive Sunday to view this campground, we were shocked when told it was $10 per person to get in. We told the girl at the station we didn't mind paying but we just wanted to check out the campground (just a few minutes) to see if it was a place we would like to camp. We were told no, they do not permit you to drive through the campground and the $10 per person was only to allow you use of the "day use" area. We are always looking for nice places to camp, after seeing how small the beach area is, the amount of people crammed there, amount of people with hammocks in the trees, grills everywhere and a cop sitting in the parking lot, we thought it looked rather trashy. Another big issue for us, was "no pets", as our dog is family and goes with us everywhere. Needless to say, we left immediately and would never consider returning.

FYI - $10 per adult to access. Nice bigger beach. Nice fine sand some small pebble/sand. Lots of shaded picnic tables. Great bath house area (changing rooms/bathroom and outside showers)

Close enough to DMV to get away for a day. You do have to pay an entrance fee. They have bathrooms and outdoor showers to clean up from the sand. No food to purchase, but there is picnic tables and you can bring your own food. They had a great playground in the sand so you didn't have to keep putting shoes on the kids. They were a lot of biting flies, which made our time less enjoyable.
